Going to Florida

Today we started packing for our trip to Grandma and G.C. in Florida. I can't wait. I already told Santa where I'll be so that my gifts get delivered correctly.

Tonight Aunt Yetta comes over to stay with Roxxanne, because she don't like flying. So Miss Roxxanne is staying in NYC to enjoy the snow. I'm a little jealous that she get to spend Hanukkah with her in Long Island, lucky dog.

An the snow just keeps on coming. Roxxanne seem to love as much as I do.

I also figured out were they keep stashing my toys away.

SANTA CLAUS

OH MY GOD!! I MET SANTA!!!!! I am still beside myself. I couldn't take a nap all day because I was going to see Santa Claus. Daddy says it's because I am getting more teeth but I couldn't convince him that it was all excitement. Santa and I got along well and he was very jolly. He also gave me a candy cane, YUM! Merry Christmas.

Gingerbread House!

Today my whole family made a gingerbread house! It turned out so good. I wanted to hold it but daddy and papa never let me near it. But I love looking at it with all the candy and icing. So far I love the holidays.

Crawl

Well, I am crawling. And that means I can finally get up close and see what all these things are. I have been so curious about what is under the bed. I also like licking the floor. Daddy always says my name really LOUD when I do that. And the word NO is being used so much. Who knows what that means?????

Reading

 I love sitting in my chair that Papa got me for Christmas, reading books. This book is one of my favorites because I am learning about animals. If you look closely you can see my bottom teeth.

As you can see from these pictures my hair is straight. With no humidity in the air my curls disappear. I love the change! I just use a different barrette every day!

Cousin Angie

Over the last week my cousin Angie came for a visit with me . Here we are just hanging us girls.

Decorating for Christmas

My GC and Gamma were also here to help us decorate for Christmas. I got to help with the lights!!! My room looks so cute. You can see there are toy solder's just over GC's shoulder on my mantel. So far....Christmas is the BEST!!!

My first Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was great!! My Grandparents came and we had a blast. My Cousin Madeline came with Aunt Toma and Uncle Jon. I would get into bed on the blow up mattress with my GC and Gamma every morning. That was fun bouncing around. My GC also gave me horsey rides every day!! I was sad to see them leave, buy I will see them at their house at Christmas!! 

Seven month Birthday!!!

Today was my 7 month birthday. Daddy and I went to the Natural History Museum in Manhattan. I saw all kinds of things and kicked my feet and squealed a lot! I also saw some tiny white things flying in the sky this morning. Daddy says its snow....whatever that is. He seemed more excited than I was.

Accessories

My dads have finally given in and put a clip in my hair. Its great having my hair out of my eyes for a change. I need to see where I am going now that I am soooo close to crawling . Look out, Miss Delilah is on the move!

Water world

Saturday I went under the water to look for nemo. He was not there but next week hopefully I'll see him when we check again.

On the menu this week:-

Happy Girl

I love fall! We are having so much fun. I wake up happy and I get happy when we are on the way out the door. There is not much that makes me sad. You know, I have to say I'm not very happy about this time change. Another hour? Who's idea is this?? Oh well... Daddy says I am voting with him Tuesday. Go Obama!!!!

This week menu:- Apricot, apples, pear puree with vanilla bean, Potato, leeks and pea puree, Butter squash puree with leeks, onion, carrots and sage, Banana Puree

                                 

Halloween

Well, Halloween was a blast! My friend Sovan came over and he and I trick or treated together. He got all the candy and I just cheered him on. There were so many other kids... I was squealing because I didn't know what else to do. We came back to our house to give out candy after I was done trick or treating and that was fun seeing all the costumes. I am gonna start planning my costume for next year now so that I am a hit again!

Ghouls and Gourds festival

Today we went to the Ghouls and Gourds festival at the Brooklyn Botanical gardens. It was great. Papa dressed up in a big puppet/costume and I didn't know it was him. I also ate some grass. It was pretty good but daddy kept pulling it out of my mouth. My Friends Leanni and Odessa came along. Odessa was a skunk! So Cute!  I wore Halloween inspired clothes and papa put this silly hat on me so I made a crazy face. 

Swim

Forget crawling when I can swim! Today I took my first swim class. The instructor even tough I was 8 months old by my suave stroke movements. All I got to say is Michael Phelps better don't get to comfortable being the top Olympic medalist. Miss D. is in the water now.

This week on the menu is parsnip puree and apple/pear puree with vanilla and cinnamon.

Parsnip Puree:-                                                           

5 parsnips                                                                       

1/4 cup Cream                                                             

1/4 cup Chicken Stock( more if needed)                 

1tbs Butter

salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:-

-Peel and dice parsnips.

-Place parsnips in pot with enough cream and chicken stock to cover parsnips, adding more stock if need until parsnips are folk tender. Add butter.

-Add parsnips with it's liquid in blender and puree.

-Add salt and pepper to taste.

Apple Pear Puree:-

3 apples ( golden delicious)

2 Pears

1 Vanilla Bean

2 tbs water

Pinch of cinnamon

Instructions:-

-Peel, core and dice apples and pears.

-Place water, apples and vanilla bean (split in half and scraped) into pot. Cook for 4 min.

-Add pears and cinnamon, cook another 2 min.

-Remove vanilla bean pod and place apple and pears into blender and puree until desired consistency. Add more water if need.

Carrots, Carrots,Carrots

For my 6 month B-day , I had carrot puree with ginger. I like it a lot more than that pea stuff. I can't wait till we get to the fruit puree already. Papa and I bought some vanilla beans to pair with apples which is next on my Epicurus's adventure. I hope I don't get pallet fatigue.

Carrot Puree;-

I bag of  Baby Carrots(peeled).

Ginger powder to taste

Butter 1 tbs.

Salt and Pepper to taste.

Instructions:

-Steam carrots until tender. Save liquid. 

-Place in Blender with a pinch of ginger powder, butter and puree. Add water from steam pot to achieve desired consistency. 

-Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Prospect Park Carousel

I got to ride the Carousel at Prospect park today! I loved the Music and my friend Leanni came along. We rode horses right next to each other. My daddy got a little dizzy. OOPS! I think I want my birthday there someday.
